Legal Document Assistant

Formerly referred to as independent paralegals, LDAs are experienced professionals authorized by the state to assist with legal document preparation. Authorizations vary by state, and is based on specific training, education history, and continued education requirements. LDAs are not licensed attorneys. LDAs are often commissioned by people who choose to take on the legal arena pro-se, but still want or need help with document preparation — without hiring an attorney.

Notary Public

A notary public is a public official who is appointed by the government to (1) verify a signer’s identity, (2) acknowledge the signer’s signature, and depending on the situation, (3) administer oaths and affirmations. The types of notarial services available to the public vary based on state jurisdiction. Notary public are crucial in furthering legal and business transactions by preventing fraud and ensuring the integrity of legal documents.
