Legal Document Assistance

  • First, fill out our contact form. Give us some information about what document(s) you’d like us to help you with. We will contact you quickly to discuss your inquiry.

    Remember, we are not licensed attorneys. We will defer you to contact an attorney if/when the nature of the help you need falls outside of our realm of services.

  • LDA rates are based on the type of document assistance you need. If you need help filling out legal forms, we usually charge flat rates. If you need help with a typing up documents, we charge hourly rates.

    Cost is determined prior to the commencement of any work, and most importantly, you will always get a contract from us that you are satisfied with. The contract will delineate the cost, terms and timeline of our work together.

  • Consider yourself the PILOT and consider us your CO-PILOT. As your co-pilot, we work strictly under your directions and instructions. This means that you will need to approach us knowing what you need done, and which document(s) you need help with. Because we are not licensed attorneys, we cannot and will not make any recommendations about your possible legal rights, remedies, defenses, options, strategies, or selection of forms.

    At your request, can we supplement you with general published factual information that has been authored and approved by a licensed attorney. For explanations and advice, always consult directly with a licensed attorney.

Notarization Services

  • First, fill out our contact form. Provide a preferred date and time for us to meet with you to execute the notary appointment. If possible, include how many signatures you’d like notarized.

    Remember, because we are not a licensed attorney, we cannot and will not recommend which type of notarial act you need for your document(s). If you are unsure, contact an attorney for legal advice and direction.

  • Maximum notary public fees are set by the State of California as follows:

    • Acknowledgements: $15 per signature

    • Jurats: $15 per signature

    • Certified copy of Power of Attorney: $15 per copy

  • 1. Let us know if you would like us to print your document(s) for you. We provide printing services for 20¢/page.

    2. Tell us where you’d like us to meet with you. We are happy to travel to you for your convenience. Our travel fee is based on the zip code.

    3. Make sure you [and, if applicable, your witness(es)], bring an acceptable form of I.D. to your notarization appointment.

  • Per California laws, notary publics can accept the following types of identification:

    • Any U.S. driver’s license or identification card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

    • U.S. passports or passport cards.

    • Any identification card issued by any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States*

    • Employee identification cards issued by an agency or office of California, including the city, county, or the State itself*

    • Valid foreign passports and consular identification documents issued by a consulate from the applicant’s country of citizenship*

    • Canadian and Mexican driver’s license issued by their respective public agencies authorized to issue driver’s licenses*

    • Identification cards issued by a federally recognized tribal government*

    *These forms of I.D. must possess the following items: (1) a photograph of the individual, (2) a serial or identification number; (3) the signature and physical description of the individual; and (4) either be current or have been issued within the past 5 years.
